What is „Deko-Stone”?

 „Deko-Stone” is a 3-4 mm thick stone-effect decor tile made from natural materials. It is used for tiling interior and exterior vertical surfaces. It is simple to use; you can easily brighten up your home and surroundings with the help of some hand-tools. This product is made from enviromentally friendly adhesives.Usable for: rough daub

Preparing the surface
First of all the surface must be completely clean of dust. Then priming in one or two layers is needed with Superflex-1 (priming used for general) depending ont he surface. Highly absorbent surfaces need to be primed twice.
Preparing the panel-stones
Do not insist ont he layout found int he box; take the panel-stones randomly, so the surface will look more natural. It is practical to take out the panels and set them on a horizontal surfacebefore the work, joining them, sizing if needed. Fort he cutting use wallpaper-knife, the panel can be accurately fractured after scratching the surface. Before tiling, get the panels out of the first line of the box from the carton.
Tiling steps
It is very important to work always only on ¼ square meter work surface (depending ont he place and the weather) to avoid the fast drying of the glue.
Spreading out adhesives
Use flexible tile adhesives for fixing. (Depending ont he place it can be for inside or outside, frost-resisting.) To apply use 10 mm notched trowel, so the thickness of the material under the panel will be about 5 mm.
Laying the panels
Lay the panels on the surface with adhesive supplied, following th eset shape. When laying be careful with pressing. It is practical to use a 10x10 wooden cube. Avoid pressing the panels with fingers, because it gives a slutted surface. Do not lett he adhesive get ont he surface of the panels. Don’t press the panels deeper than 5 mm into the ridges. The remaining adhesive under the panels should be minimum 5 mm.
Grouting tile
Immediately do the grouting ont he completed surface. Special grouting material is not needed; it is enough to work off the squizzing adhesive. Pull the grouting to the level of the panel-stones then make 6-8 mm deep joints for the more statuesque effect. To get a better lookthe grout can be coloured. If the surface had been gummed, it is clearable by sand-paper if it is dried, or by wet cloth if it is fresh.
Other tips
You can use different coloured panels althuogh picking the correct mixture is essencial. Pick the colours at the prepairing phase. The panels are totally usable for convex shapes (e.g. pillars) in this case the panels can be set by hands in room temperature. In cold weather the warming of the panels is necessary. To install the corners put two same sized panels to each other in 90 degree, then fill the space between them with same coloured fluid Deco-Panel basic material. After it is totally dried finis hit with polishing paper.
Warning
Do not work with the Deko-Stone bellow +5 C, outside when the weather is rainy, wet or the humidity is high! If the spreaded adhesive dried ont he surface during the work, you should take it off. Be careful! Do NOT mix it with the fresh adhesive!
Grout carefully! Do NOT leave gaps int he joints! (Joints must be watertight!)
Maintain the outdoor panels after work with impregnating substance /Aqua-stop/.
Int he packing there might be a few crooked panels. Straighten them up with warmth/hair dryer, hot air heater or in summer the warmth of the sun/ or bend them at right angle.
